A trauma-informed, inclusive, culturally responsive music therapy practice providing services in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Music therapy is the use of music in all its creative facets within a therapeutic relationship with a trained and qualified music therapist. It is an effective and evidence-based therapeutic modality for all ages, from infants to older adults, and for people of all abilities. Sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the client and may target a wide range of emotional, psychosocial, physiological and/or cognitive goals.

From the rhythm of our heartbeat to the melody of our laughter and crying, we are musical beings who instinctively express ourselves through sound. Music helps us to connect and communicate; to access and transform emotions; to express and affirm culture and identity; to access memory and strengthen cognitive abilities; to develop creativity and flexibility; and to bring about physiological change. These connections with music remain despite disability or illness.
Through a variety of musical techniques such as voice work, improvisation, music guided imagery, songwriting and other creative arts modalities, I work in collaboration with my clients to support them in accessing their full potential. No musical background or training is required to participate in music therapy.
